I've never had it hot now I am going to try it next chance I get. I usually just drink it cold, and with some Jack Daniels.

I've only ever had it cold---I have a quart (well, somewhat less than a quart now!) of vanilla eggnog in my fridge now. I take mine without alcohol. (I guess that's not in the proper "spirit" of eggnog ... but I like it straight!)

My preference is cold, sometimes I add a little Captain Morgans Rum to it, never tried it with Jack Daniels.

My family drinks virgin egg nog. We normally drink it cold. I've never tried it hot. I guess the only time I've drunk it hot is when I've eaten egg nog pancakes at Ihop. It was good but interesting. xD

For me, it's always cold and always homemade. There are several eggnog recipes on merrychristmasrecipes.com my favorite is: http://merrychristmasrecipes.com/2011/08/04/eggnog/
