My Merry Christmas Announcement

Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

The village has started the Christmas decorating. (Dial-up beware)

I thought this time would never get here, and finally it has. I've started putting up the Dept 56 village, and like I did before, I would like to share with you the process.

This year I am adding a level.

What a mess.

Sorry. Next batch of pictures, I'll make smaller.

This is awesome Steve! It would be great if maybe you could send me your pictures and your story so I can add it to ShowUsYourChristmas.com -- that venue is connected here to the forums and is a bit easier place to share photos. This is cool!

Images will email better. Send them to editor@mymerrychristmas.com. I'll put it together and have you take a look at it so we get the details right. Once upon a time I had quite a Dept 56 collection and I did a double decker display too. Curious to see what you do!

Made some progress over the past few days.

This is part of the upper level, which is the North Pole.

Welcome to the North Pole.

So far.

Since I took these pictures, I have already changed some things. Problem is, if I stand and look at it long enough, I might change everything around.

Thank you for the nice comments. I am glad that everybody enjoys them.

Had some time to do some more work on the North Pole section, and as I started earlier, I stood there looking at what I had finished, and sure enough, I ended up changing some things. Ill post some pictures hopefully later tonight.

Here are a few more pictures.

I removed the cobblestone sidewalks. They did not seem to fit the theme, so I replaced them with glittery snow.

I think I'm done with the North Pole, other than placing the garland around the top. This weekend I'll start Dickens Village on the lower half.
