Tips for Buying a Fresh Tree
I will do that fresh cut of the trunk.....that was my problem last Christmas.....the tree lost so many needles....even tho it was fresh....the problem was....since I didnīt cut the trunk....the tree...
I did `cheat' slightly this year as I didnt make the marzipan and fondant from scratch (like I usually do) but that gave me more time to make the little fondant decorations to decorate the cake. The fondant and marzipan I used was a Renshaws variety which tastes pretty good.
Anyway, am pleased to say the cake went down very well - was over at my folks for Christmas and on Boxing Day (i.e. yesterday) my mum's Christmas pudding ended up burning in the microwave so we ended up improvising with my Christmas Cake and cream (which tasted just as nice). There is just over a quarter of the cake left which isnt bad considering it was pretty big!
