What is it exactly about Christmas you like so much!

This was the question asked by my wife to me the other day !!! You would have thought she asked me how to cure world hunger or something. All I could muster on the spot was "everything" now my family knows I'm a Christmas nut but I've never been asked exactly why before. I'm not even sure I could put in one sentence . Can you ?

It's the way I feel when I hear Christmas music or watch a Christmas movie or reflect on the goodwill of the season.

This one is easy for me. The music! Other than perhaps Halloween, no other holiday comes close to the amount of associated tunes. The, in my humble opinion, worn out Top 100 Christmas tunes just don’t do the genre justice.

The colors of Christmas would be a distant second.

Having been a member of various Christmas forums for nine years now, I’ve realized that my overall interest in Christmas really isn’t as intense as others. Without the music, I’m not even sure I would be all that interested in Christmas.

I guess for me part of it is the way you can hear a song see an ornament or catch a certain smell and instantly be transported to a Christmas past . When family members were still here or I was a kid or even my kids were much younger.

Christmas Tree

For me it is certainly memories of events and people gone now but there is always just enough magic to keep me believing that there still is hope for love and compassion in my little world.

That is why we celebrate Christmas. A gift made in love to all of humanity. Without it, everything else we hold dear about the season is meaningless.
