To Add to DAR.fm

Since Alabama Public Radio will carry most of the nationally syndicated special programming and I am familiar with their schedule, I will try to capture all the below scheduled shows in DAR.fm. Note that some shows are repeated. I won't attempt to maneuver timers around those.

APR doesn't include them in the special programming schedule, but their are some really neat local shows on the weekend. Most, if not all, will spin Christmas tunes in season.

Saturday, December 21:

7:00 PM - Bama Bluegrass (2 hours)

Sunday, December 22:

5:00 PM Getting Sentimental Over You (1 hour)
6:00 PM The Crooners (2 hours)
8:00 PM Jugs, Jukes and Jazz (2 hours) Generally host, Tom Halladay mixes Christmas tunes into the music. However, in 2012 for the first time, the show was all Christmas.

If you see a show from any of the listings not on the APR schedule, let me know so it can be added.

I'll also issue the final 2013 request for folks to dig around public radio schedules in your area (or anywhere else for that matter) and post schedules. Again, the locally produced shows are usually the best shows!

So sorry, I am so swamped with work that I haven't kept up with this radio section like I usually do.

I forgot to post this station that started on the 11th. It is not top 100. It is what some would call elevator music mixed with standards. I love it because it's relaxing to me. It is a public broadcasting station in Killeen, Tx.

I've got a few timers set on my personal DAR.fm account for some of those interesting looking local shows on KDRP (100.1 FM in Austin) out of Dripping Springs, Texas too!

I used to listen to Larry Monroe when he was at KUT.

WRST-FM 90.3 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin USA

WRST-FM 90.3 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Dr. Gerry Grzyb, also known as Dr. Christmas is back on WRST.

I missed Monday's show on DAR but have a timer set for the rest. (BTW, so far we have 8 gigabytes of content at DAR.fm thus far!)

From the webpage:

Tentative program content for the Dr. Christmas Radio Show for 2013

Looking at the CDs received for the show this year, I think the following programming will work:

MONDAY Dec. 16 1-6 PM CST All kinds of popular music

TUESDAY Dec. 17 1-6PM CST Classical/choral, emphasizing Germany

WEDNESDAY Dec. 18 1-6 PM CST More popular and folk music

THURSDAY Dec. 19 1-6 PM CST Classical/choral, emphasizing Britain

FRIDAY Dec. 20 1-6 PM CST Pop and jazz

SATURDAY Dec. 21 1-7 PM CST Classical/choral, emphasizing the U.S., with the Oshkosh Chamber Singers' Lessons and Carols at 4 PM

SUNDAY Dec. 22 1-8 PM CST Acoustic (guitar, piano, detc.) - "Music for a Silent Night"

DAR.fm Xmas Club Update

No. I just plumb forgot. Sorry, kind sir!

Long story about Dr. Christmas' shows. A daily timer was set for the weekday shows. Turns out that somehow on DAR's recorder for WRST, a couple of letters got transposed. (I checked and double checked. It wasn't my mistake.) The recordings were of a today's hit music station. Sounded like a lot of techno dance music. Delete!

The only Dr. Christmas captured was yesterday's Classical/Choral show. At least I think so; "something" is there. I haven't listened to it yet.
