I'd like to see everyone have Thanksgiving off, first of all.

As for advertised specials, I'd take the old man approach: I want useful items cheap. Don't need big TVs, computers or video games. I need things like small appliances, pots and pans, etc -- practical stuff! (Not going happen)

MP3s and/or cell phones, clothes. - Gonna try to keep it on the simpler/cheaper side this year, and I'm actually still deciding whether or not I want to venture out this year. I like helping to boost the economy, but as I get older, I've realized that I'm not a fan of the sore feet and bruised wallet.

People to use their heads and be SAFE!

Later opening times!

I've been working on Black Friday for years and last year was the first time I worked it and didn't feel safe. If there was a fire or emergency most people would not have been able to get out safely. I have never seen so many people crammed into a store before.

The Black Friday trend is slowly creeping in where I live. I noticed a couple shops doing it last year. It isn't very well known here yet.

So for me I would very much like to see an increase in the trend here. I would love more shops to get involved and offer genuine money saving deals on popular gifts and seasonal items. Fingers crossed it takes off.

I stopped going out to the stores myself for Black Friday, (It is too hectic, too many people and too much nastiness). Now adays, I do alot of my Black Friday shopping from the comfort of my lazyBoy while sitting in front of the fireplace....

I too prefer the Early Friday morning opening time like 5 am. We host Thanksgiving so I am not about to abandon my guests or rush them out early to go shopping. I enjoy spending Thanksgiving at home with my family.

We are still working on the gift list and I am hoping to have a lot of my shopping done before black friday so I am not sure what I will still need to get by then.

I'm going to agree with Jeff and Minta and say that I would like to see Black Friday actually be on Friday and not Thursday night.

As far as products, I don't care about electronics since we have plenty of them. I'd rather see a good deal on CD's, DVD's, toys, clothes, and smaller stuff like that.

AMEN to all these! We're not fond of crowds, so we generally finish up our gift shopping early and spend Black Friday cozily at home. Often we haul out the gifts we've bought, put on Christmas music or old-time radio, and begin wrapping gifts. (But we've been known to do that on Halloween, too, so we can be near the front door to answer the doorbell hand out treats!)
