Music Scripture doesn't say it be we know those angels were singing at the manger. And music has been the heart of Christmas ever since.

A New Year's Wish for all Christians, "In Memoriam"

The poem, "In Memoriam" was written circa 1850 by Alfred Tennyson and is widely considered one of the most significant works of the 19th century. This small excerpt of wishes from Canto 106, set on a wintry New Year's Eve in England long ago, are the same now for us, as they were then for the author.

Tennyson was dealing the grief of having lost a close friend who died suddenly before he could marry Tennyson's sister and he spent 17 years on this monumental work. Queen Victoria is quoted as saying, "Next to the Bible...In Memoriam is my comfort..." after the death of her husband, Prince Albert.
