What's your Christmas speciality?

Is there something you make every Christmas? Something people request or expect you to make? A side dish, dessert, drink, etc.

Share your recipes!!

My brother-in-law putting in a standing order for my 7-Layer salad.

7-Layer Salad
Serves: As many as you need...it's a salad just add more

Head of lettuce - chopped
Small bag of frozen peas - thawed
One onion - finely chopped
Shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb. bacon - cooked & crumbled
Miracle Whip or Mayonnaise
3-4 large eggs - hard boiled & finely chopped

In a 13x9 dish, layer lettuce, evenly spread peas and onion over lettuce top with mayo and frost it like a cake. Add a layer of cheese, then bacon and finish with eggs.

Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour. Great dish make the night before.

I also make the green bean casserole. I use the recipe right off the can of French's Fried Onions.

Original Green Bean Casserole
Serves 6

1 (10 3/4 oz.) can CAMPBELL'S® Cream of Mushroom Soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 (9 oz. each) pkgs. frozen cut green beans, thawed*
1 1/3 cups FRENCH'S® French Fried Onions

1. MIX soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2 -qt. baking dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup French Fried Onions.
2. BAKE at 350°F for 30 min. or until hot.
2. STIR. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 min. until onions are golden.
Tip: You may substitute 2 cans (14 1/2 oz. each) cut green beans, drained or 4 cups fresh, cooked cut green beans.

My uncle will only eat my Deviled Eggs so I end up making those too. I don't really have a recipe for those though. Just eyeball everything and taste often.

I also make a dessert but I like to make something we haven't had before. I leave the pies (and traditional goodies) to my Grandma because it wouldn't be Christmas without those!!

I've been busy baking cookies, and pumpkin bread for the holidays. For christmas breakfast, I'm making a baked omellete, and one of the side dishes I make everyear to go with our dinner is homemade macaroni and cheese. it was my husband's mothers recipe, and my husband said I make it just as good as his mother. NOW, THATS A COMPLIMENT!

WE'll be getting together with my husband's family on Dec 22nd for their family christmas party. I called my sister in law today to find out what I could bring. She wants me to being dessert, so I'm making a carrot cake. I have a great recipe from scratch, and it's so moist. I'm putting cream cheese frosting on top too. My husband LOVES this cake, he's so glad thats what I'm bringing.
