Quote "When I was a boy, my brothers and I huddled around the wood stove and listened to the show on AM radio. Now, through the magic of technology, you can download these mp3s, curl up under your electric blanket, and listen on your iPod. Better yet, tuck your children into bed and listen to the story with them. This is a wonderful no-cost holiday tradition"
By my feeble and probably flawed calculation there has been right at 1,000 hours worth of Christmas music and programming download sources in this thread for 2008! That’s not including the hundreds of hours of streams! Though comments and additions by others have been sparse, I hope some folks have been able to add to their Christmas audio collection.
Radio stations have started playing all Christmas and many more will start around Thanksgiving. Soon, there will be Christmas music pouring from every audio orifice, whether you are at home, in your car, or out shopping. You won’t be able to escape it! There will be more than enough Christmas music for anyone’s fix for sure!
Thusly, I’ll let this thread rest until shortly after Christmas 2008 when the plug is once again pulled from the Yule tune mainstream socket. I will return with some time sensitive downloads that will be available for a short period of time. Afterwards, it may be time to let this thread fade into obscurity.
Until then, be sure to check out the 2008 Radio Schedule thread to find Christmas music. The rest of the World has almost caught up with our year 'round habit for their once a year fix!
By all means, if anyone else has a link to share here, do so at any time! My quest for the obscure never ends!
Thank you all for well over four thousand views by the end of 2008!
Well, it's not after Christmas 2008 yet, but "The Fa" and affiliated friend blogs are in full swing for the 2008 Sharity Season! Some of these links may go dark shortly after Christmas. So, collect the wax while it’s hot off the turntable!
www.FaLaLaLaLa.com Be sure to follow the many links for more Christmas vinyl than you can shake a tone arm at. (As always boys and girls, a preposition is a terrible thing to end a sentence with!)
I’m almost to the point to have to buy more hard drive storage space!
