An annual tradition since 1925 minus a few skipped years, the Montreal Santa Claus Parade, better known as the Défilé du Père Noël, typically features thousands of delighted kids waiting to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus, with about 20 floats proceeding along downtown artery and top shopping destination, Ste. Catherine Street, from Fort to St. Urbain.
The 2012 Santa Claus Parade is held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 starting at 11 a.m. at the corner of Fort and Ste. Catherine, moving along Ste. Catherine until St. Urbain.
Try to get there early to get a good view because this is downtown Montreal's most popular parade of the year. Ste. Catherine Street, from Peel to de Bleury, gets so congested mid-parade, that it's nearly impossible to walk on the sidewalks. So plan ahead.
